This is an example Hosts file. It is sourced from a Windows Vista installation and includes some modifications that I have made for myself.
Note how there is a valid IP Address for 4thkingdom.com and invalid IP Addresses for the other domains.
- 4thkingdom.com will work even if the Nameservers that host the DNS Records go down. It will also be faster to browse to it as my computer doesn't have to ask a DNS server for the IP Address
- requests for creative.ak.facebook.com, 4chan.org and www.4chan.org will return nothing and save me time and bandwidth
