Here is the simple method to migrate from one provider to another.

1. Purchase your new hosting plan
2. Ensure that any mailboxes, custom DNS Records and your Website files are replicated from your old host to your new host.
3. Transfer/Re-delegate your Domain Name to the new hosting provider but ensure that your Email client continues to check the old provider's server
4. Wait roughly 48 hours
5. Update your email client to the new server details.

With those 5 steps you should experience practically no downtime at all. Always have an overlap.
