Lankyland was first started in 2001 using Notepad and basic HTML. I think it may have even been the HTML 2.0 handbook that I had been reading through that convinced me to get into web design and hosting.
Like all n00bl3ts I started off on Geocities. Then I got brought to the darkside that is pHreak.co.uk via Benxor.
Benxor was running CrackSmokingDucks.com and he gave me some space on his hosting. Then we got into the world of PHP.
Since that time I have been hassling Benxor and a few others for assistance with learning the rudiments of PHP, MySQL and the general Linux environment.
I am hoping that this Wiki will achieve three major points
- Act as a Code Snippet Repository for the useful functions and codes that I have written, borrowed or found through the various incarnations of lankyland and various side projects
- Provide others with a base to launch their own web design and hosting careers
- Host any tutorials that I have written for friends for their own future reference
